When the canvas cover is torn
In the case of cloth bindings, the methods used vary depending on the extent of the damage. Gaps can be filled in a similar way to those in leather, using kozo paper. However, when the textile structure is too weakened, lining can be considered. This involves reinforcing the cover by adding a layer of bookbinding cloth, glued in place with a pH-neutral vinyl adhesive, ensuring both strength and durability without compromising the overall chemical balance.
